L’esperienza acquisita negli ultimi 15 anni nella riparazione e modifica delle chitarre ci ha permesso di capire quali sono le aspettative dello strumentista, ciò che vuole e necessita per riuscire a trovare il suo sound. Le chitarre Agostin Custom Guitars sono create ascoltando attentamente le esigenze del musicista professionista.

Tutto ha inizio dalla pretesa di costruire la chitarra migliore: dalla playability al suono. Si cerca di catturare il tono vintage aggiungendo alcune caratteristiche moderne. Ciò che abbiamo sempre avuto in mente è che la maggior parte delle chitarre attuali non hanno un suono abbastanza pieno e ricco, sono talvolta carenti di attacco, oppure sono eccessivamente brillanti o eccessivamente scure, con scarsa flessibilità timbrica.

Quello che serve è una chitarra che passi attraverso il mix con note di alta definizione senza dover alzare il volume per essere ascoltate. Inoltre è necessario sapere di avere tra le mani una chitarra molto dinamica. Quando si suonano quelle note bisogna essere certi di poter creare tensione e feeling con un semplice tocco delle dita.
Quello che rende tutto ciò possibile è la forma dell’innesto del manico, il quale consente l’accesso ai tasti superiori migliorando inoltre la stabilità dell'intera struttura. I nostri giunti sono concepiti in modo da sostenere tutto il corpo della chitarra senza l'utilizzo di viti o colla, e una volta che il manico è innestato è praticamente impossibile muoverlo. Tutte queste scelte portano inoltre ad un potenziamento del sustain dello strumento.

Ogni strumento Agostin Custom Guitars ha un originale design, a partire dalle dimensioni del corpo, dai contorni fino ad arrivare alla linea del manico e al profilo della paletta. Per ogni strumento si parte dal materiale grezzo e, traendo ispirazione dai designs classici, le chitarre prendono forma fino a rivelare la propria anima in modo rivoluzionario.

Ma perché i nostri strumenti sono così versatili e comodi?
Un fantastico suono parte da un ottimo legno. Non impieghiamo altro che la più alta qualità di legno a disposizione per strumenti musicali. I materiali vengono selezionati a mano e accoppiati opportunamente per garantire uno strumento ricco di armoniche, dinamico ed acusticamente vivo.
In seguito le varie parti subiscono un primo taglio attraverso macchine a controllo numerico (CNC machine), e per tutto il resto del lavoro le forme sono definite a mano.
Tutte le chitarre vengono finite con vernici a base di nitrocellulosa per consentire la massima vibrazione con il minimo spessore.

The experience we have gained in the past 15 years repairing and modifying guitars has given us a sense of what the working musicians really want and need to "get their sound". That’s how Agostin Custom Guitars was created, by listening to the needs of you, “the Player.”

It all starts to build the best guitar, from playability to sound. We try to capture the vintage vibe plus adding some of the modern features. What we always think is that most guitars don’t have the full sound and attack, or they are too bright or too muddy with no dynamics at all.

What you need is a guitar that will come through the mix with very defined notes without having to raise the volume to be heard. Also what you really need is a very dynamic guitar, that you can feel under your fingers at all times; when you play those notes you know that you can create tension and feeling only with the touch of your fingers.

What makes this all possible is our unique neck joint design. We made it full excess to the upper frets plus improving the stability of the whole structure. Our neck joints will support the body with no screws or glue, and once the neck is in its place, you can forget about moving it. All these choices result in an enhanced sustain of the acoustic wave.

Every instrument offered by Agostin Custom Guitars is an original design from body dimensions, contours and routing to neck design, construction and headstock. We start with a blank slate for each instrument and while reflecting inspiration from classic designs, our guitars exude vibe and soul that is revolutionary.

Why do our instruments feel broken in and friendly?
Great tone starts with great wood. We use nothing but the highest quality master grade tone woods available. The materials are first hand selected and "tap matched" to ensure a harmonically rich, dynamic and acoustically alive instrument.
In all, the pieces get a rough cut on CNC machines, and the rest of the work is defined by hand.
All guitars are finished in a nitro-cellulose lacquer to allow for maximum resonance with minimum finish build up.
